LNA at AWOC 2025: Presenting Mata'an Creek Flood Simulation and Disaster Prevention Strategies

(Busan National University)
Date: November 18, 2025
Location: Busan National University, South Korea
[International Academic Exchange]
The 2025 Asian Workshop on Ocean Color (AWOC 2025) was held on November 18 at the Department of Civil Engineering, Pusan National University. Li-Jou Engineering Consultants (LNA), dedicated to advancing professional depth in hydraulic engineering and disaster prevention technology, dispatched specialized researchers to South Korea to participate in this prestigious event and engage with experts from Japan, Korea, and the international community.
[Presentation Topic: Flood Simulation of Hualien Mata'an Creek & Reflections on Disaster Prevention]
During the workshop, the LNA research team presented their findings on the Mata'an Creek, a significant river system in Eastern Taiwan. Under the title "Flood Simulation of Hualien Mata'an Creek and Reflections on Disaster Prevention," the presentation highlighted:
-
High-Precision Simulation: Demonstrating the application of advanced numerical hydraulic models to simulate flood potential, tailored to the unique geographical and hydrological conditions of Mata'an Creek.
-
Reflections on Disaster Strategy: Using simulation data to evaluate the resilience of current flood control infrastructure and proposing concrete adaptation strategies for disaster management in the face of extreme rainfall events caused by climate change.
-
Local Experience, Global Sharing: Sharing Taiwan's practical experience and data in dealing with composite hazards, offering valuable case studies for Japanese and Korean scholars.
[Looking Forward]
Participating in AWOC 2025 not only showcased LNA's technical capabilities in hydraulic simulation but also allowed our team to absorb the latest global trends in water environment monitoring and disaster management. LNA remains committed to translating these international insights into practical momentum, contributing professional expertise to Taiwan's national land safety and sustainable engineering.
